Eat This Now: Motor Sisters Ice Cream
Ice cream flavors inspired by feminists.
You know that saying—the one about well behaved women rarely making history? Well Kari Crowe Seher and Mark Seher, the duo behind Fort Worth’s MELT Ice Creams, have put their own delicious spin on it. Because now, well behaved women rarely get an ice cream treat at Motor Sisters named after them.
Perhaps you’re in the mood to conquer gender barriers in your career? Better have an Amelia Earhart first—chocolate or vanilla soft serve in a cone topped with Nutella sauce, pretzels, and peanuts. Ready to Lean In? The Sandberg shake, inspired by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg will inspire you with cold brew, chocolate syrup, whole milk, coffee cream, and syrup. And maybe you just need to add a little pep in your step and perfect that cookie recipe—naturally, the T. Swift, with Fruity Pebbles, whole milk, whipped cream, and sprinkles, is the right choice.
Motor Sisters opened earlier this winter (not exactly frozen treat season) in the old Carnival Barker’s spot outside The Truck Yard. All of the cones, sundaes, and shakes on the menu are named for inspirational feminist leaders of the past and present—encouraging us to have our treats and eat them too. (But be sure to snap a pic for Insta first.)
