Mommy & Me
But like, in a good way
Matching floral dresses. Nautical-themed suiting. Denim-on-denim ensembles. Mother-daughter dressing can (and very often does) go awry, yet there’s something irresistible about mini-versions of matching things—especially around Mother’s Day.
Forty Five Ten couldn’t resist, but obviously they’re doing it in a cool way that’s a thousand miles away from Awkward Family Photos. They’ve invited artist Tyler Alexander to hand paint Superga sneakers (in grown-up and kids sizes) with matching splatters, stripes, and colorful splashes.
Each can be personalized with the wearer’s initials and that alone makes them the perfect Mother’s Day gift. But, there’s even more reason to pick up a few pairs this weekend. A portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to Baby2Baby, a nationwide non-profit that provides low-income children with diapers, clothing, and the basic necessity no child should ever go without.
The Details: Shop the hand-painted sneakers in store May 10–12. Meet Tyler and have your pair customized on May 11, 1–4 p.m. Forty Five Ten, 1608 Elm Street Motor Court for complimentary valet.
