It’s a Party

Grafitti at the DMA.

The Dallas Museum of Art got tagged—in the best way possible. Swiss surrealist graffiti artist Nicolas Party transformed the main corridor of the museum into a Dr. Seuss-like dreamland with his mural “Pathway,” now open for strolling.

“Pathway” is Party’s unique take on landscape painting, and the walls are filled with brightly hued trees, bushes, shrubs, and more in a simplified but vibrant style. Placed in the middle of the mural is a painting of two androgynous figures wearing hats. Purposefully, one only knows that the gender of the figures through the name of the portrait—“Two Men in Hats.”

This is Party’s first stateside solo exhibit, and will be on display until February 5, 2017. Stop by on a rainy Saturday like we did, and the brilliant colors are sure to give you a much needed jolt of energy.
