Go behind the scenes at Commissary
Flour, egg, salt, water. Humble ingredients, but with magical potential in the right hands. Say, for instance, those of the chefs at Commissary. On Thursday, May 31, they’ll be opening up their kitchen for a pasta tutorial night.
The evening will kick off with cheese, house-cured salumi, and wine, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of where all the making, baking, curing, and butchering takes place. (Commissary serves as the off-site kitchen for all Headington Companies’ restaurants—Wheelhouse, Sassetta, Americano, CBD Provisions, Mirador, Weekend Coffee, and The Porch—so there’s lots to be seen.)
The evening’s family-style dinner will showcase the fruits of the kitchen’s labor: fresh-baked breads, house-made sides, and a “flight” of several pastas illustrating different techniques. Wine pairings, gelato, and a few other surprises will round out the menu. Interested? Book quick! The first pasta night sold out in a matter of hours when it was announced to email subscribers. These spots go fast.
