Souped Up

Local juice press Vim + Vigor has gone savory.

I’ve seen the bottom of a Vim + Vigor bottle or two. And while I still don’t find myself craving beet juice, the local press’ newest addition to their liquid products has me intrigued.

This isn’t another go at cleansing (though a  soup cleanse doesn’t sound terrible). Instead, Vim + Vigor’s “Savory Sips” are billed as nourishment on the go. Think high-fiber, low sugar, and low calorie—and of course, all blended from fresh ingredients (red pepper, ginger, yellow squash, kale, avocado, basil, and garlic). Each soup has less than 7 grams of natural sugar in the bottle, so it’s ideal for those looking for something quick, easy, and healthy.

Right now, there are three seasonal flavors of drinkable soups, only available at Whole Foods. And at less that 210 calories per 12 ounce bottle, they’re pretty guilt-free.

Our favorite, which could be dubbed the “green juice of soups,” is the Kale Avo’ Basil. It’s super fresh tasting—basically spring in a bottle. And if it can help us get bikini-ready for summertime, even better.

Over all, we’re really in to this gazpach-go.

The Details: Vim + Vigor juices are available at Weekend Coffee, Whole Foods, and online. The soups are available exclusively at Whole Foods.
