READY, SET, BRUNCH
Every Sunday: Two new ways to choose your own adventure
Football fans, cool moms, girlfriends, grandparents, the pint-sized crowd… There’s one thing that unites us all: brunch. Everyone loves the Sunday ritual (especially in Dallas) and now the Design District offers something for everyone.
Every Sunday, Wheelhouse and Sassetta are hosting the ultimate Sunday brunch. And really, it’s more of a duel. On one side: Wheelhouse. It’s got sports covered. With 12 TVs, there’s not a bad seat in the house—even on the patio, which, by the way, is dog-friendly. Games and activities mean it’s also perfect for kids. (Ask about menu options for little ones.)
The menu is all-American: shrimp and grits, brisket breakfast tacos, blueberry pancakes… But the best part is the new build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Pick your vodka (salt or no salt) and take a trip to the loaded bar with house-made mixes, tomato juice, and toppings like bacon, olives, pickled okra, peppers, celery, jerky, pickled shrimp, and cucumbers. Splash in worcestershire, tabasco, and horseradish to make it as spicy as you please.
On the other side, there’s Sassetta—all golden accents, greenhouse florals, and pretty tiles. With live music every Sunday, the vibe is lovely, yet laid back. The menu celebrates modern Italian dishes with a few breakfast-y staples like veggie frittata and toasted brioche with jam.
At Sassetta, the action happens tableside with make-your-own mimosas. Say the word and a bottle of prosecco arrives on a tray with assorted juices (orange, grapefruit, and blood orange with St-Germain liqueur) alongside chilled berries for a world-class mimo. (Insider info: After a weekend of testing the mimosa setup, the culinary team decided one thing needed to change. Instead of offering just a bottle of prosecco, they’ve added a magnum option! Supersize me, please.)
So whether you’re party of two or ten, coming in fresh from yoga or dragging your hungover self off the couch, there’s a brunch happening Sunday that’s just right.
