Move over rosé. 2017 is the year of the Aperol Spritz. Crafted in 1919 at the Padua International Fair, Aperol is a classic apéritif with bitter orange and floral notes. (It’s similar to Campari, but less bitter and with a lower alcohol content.) The spritz rose in popularity in the ’50s, and (despite an unfortunate “Spritz Life” campaign in 2011) is on the rise again. It’s light and bubbly—more fun than champagne—and not too boozy for day drinking.
