A behind-the-scenes culinary events

Since Commissary opened its doors last November, we’ve had ringside seats to its non-stop culinary show. (It’s good to have friends in high places.) We’ve peered into the industrial-sized mixers, watched loaves of bread roll out of mega-sized ovens, toured the dry-aging cellar, and surveyed the butcher shop’s operations in full effect.

These glimpses  behind the scenes have been industry-only opportunities, mostly reserved for press—until now. Next Thursday, April 26, Commissary will be hosting it’s first steak tasting and tour event. The night will kick off with cheese, house-cured salumi, and wine, followed by a tour of where everything takes place: the bakery, kitchen, and subterranean butcher operations. (Commissary serves as the off-site kitchen for all Headington Companies’ restaurants: Wheelhouse, Sassetta, Americano, and CBD Provisions to name a few. So there’s lots to be seen.)

The evening’s dinner will showcase the fruits of the kitchen’s labor: fresh-baked breads, house-made sides, and a “flight” of locally sourced steaks illustrating the different variations of dry-aging. Wine pairings and gelato will round out the menu. Interested? Book quick—capacity is limited!

The Details: Commissary, 1217 Main Street. $95 per person (includes tax, gratuity, and complimentary parking). Guest will also receive 10% off retail purchases. Tour kicks off at 7 p.m. For more info and to purchase your seat, email info@commissarydallas.com.
