Three masks to add into your rotation
The idea of one ultimate, do-it-all mask is a myth. This doesn’t mean there aren’t beautiful formulations that do wonders for your complexion. But, as your skin changes—from season to season and even week to week—you need multiple options. Perhaps one day you want to address dehydration and the signs of aging. The next, it’s redness and irritation. Esthetician Rula Sharkawi recommends starting a collection of masks you can rotate to fit your needs. To start, here are three of her top favorites.
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask
“I call this the instant glow mask. Using with all-natural beta hydroxy acid, it exfoliates like a peel, but without the dryness or irritation. Use it once or twice a week for 15–30 minutes to keep skin fresh and glowing.”
Biologique Recherche Masque VIP O2
“This is a lifesaver for tired, stressed skin. Use it twice a week for a good 15–20 minutes. It’s super revitalizing and leaves you with a healthy glow. It can also double as a treatment for the eye area—great for erasing dark circles.”
Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant
“This is my go-to mask to rebalance skin. Infused with live yeast, cucumber, and witch hazel, it brightens, purifies, and soothes irritations. I love how versatile it is. Use it twice a week all over your face and décolleté for 10–20 min, or dot on blemishes as a spot treatment. For oily, acne-prone skin, mix in a pinch of baking soda to help target clogged pores. For dry, sensitive skin, mix with the Masque VIP O2. Total game changer.
