Unbranded has your presents accounted for
Founded in 2014 by entrepreneurs Bryan DeLuca and Matt Alexander, the annual gifting extravaganza that is Unbranded has become a new downtown holiday tradition—right alongside visiting Santa at Neiman Marcus or a post-shopping cocktail at Mirador.
Now managed by Downtown Dallas, Inc., the pop-up of local entrepreneurs, designers, photographers, artists, and chefs, is a way to support the next generation of creatives while giving everyone on your list something truly unique.
Held each Thursday through Saturday until December 22 at the historic former Dallas Power and Light Building on Commerce Street, the event offers an entirely different selection of gifts from week to week. Unbranded will focus on quirky tees, jewelry, bags, and home goods December 6-8 and 13-15. Then from December 20-22, it’s an offering of culinary treats, soaps, and other stocking stuffers.
“This year, we had 150 candidates, and we only got to choose 35 to 40,” Downtown Dallas’ Chief Marketing Officer Shalissa Perry says of the curated selection. “It’s a process to see who is a fit from downtown’s up-and-coming vendors. I try to make it accessible—anything from a $10 candle to a $150 cashmere scarf.”
Shoppers can also take classes in pressed flowers, string art, and lettering, or toast the season with a cup of Flying Horse Coffee or Katy Trail Vodka cocktail during during nightly happy hours. Add to the mix free pet portraits, pictures with Santa, and a gift wrap station—it’s pretty much the HQ for holiday cheer.
