What To Do This Weekend

There’s a little bit of something for everybody.

-Fried Chicken Friday. CBD Provisions’ take on a classic includes two pieces of fried chicken, CBD’s famed fries, cornbread, and coleslaw made with kale for just $14. The Details: CBD Provisions, 1530 Main Street. Lunch only.

-Mad Decent Block Party. Consider this the grown-up take on the block parties of your childhood. Swap potluck meals and a bounce house for a dance party with entertainment by GRiZ, Keys N Krates, Kaskade, and more. The Details: 703 McKinney Avenue. Tickets and more here.

-H2O Flow. Uptown Yoga, the hosts of our favorite good-karma charity event, is hosting a super cool yoga event. Beat the heat with an hour of outdoor yoga atop the AT&T Performing Arts Center’s reflecting pool. The Details: AT&T Performing Arts Center, 2403 Flora Street. Free to the public. More information here.

-Reunion Lawn Party. Party on the Lawn a la Jay Gatsby under the watchful gaze of Reunion Tower. There will be live music, food trucks, a beer garden brought to you by The Nodding Donkey, and more. The Details: 777 Sports Street. Free entry.

-Big Tex Choice Awards. Weeks before the hallowed gates of the State Fair open, the Big Tex Choice Awards decide which of the wacky, fried fares will be served that year. This foodie event doubles as a fundraiser (thus the $100 ticket price), raising money for the Youth Scholarship Fund. The Details: Tickets here.

-Americano Family Dinner. Gather the family ‘round every Sunday evening at Americano and share a meal. Indulge in salad, pizza, pasta, and gelato at $28 per person. The Details: Americano, 1530 Main Street.
