SCENTS OF THE WEEK

SCENTS OF THE WEEK

Seven Byredo scents to add to your fragrance wardrobe, one for each day of the week

Monday Morning

ROSE OF NO MAN’S LAND
This homage to a “rose that blooms where others fear to tread” takes the heart of rose absolute and sweet raspberry to a sharp, unexpected place with top notes of pink pepper and a base of white amber. Rose of No Man’s Land is soft, but still means business—exactly the mood to kick off your work week.

Tuesday Afternoon

GYPSY WATER
Perhaps Byredo’s best known fragrance, Gypsy Water wears so differently from individual to individual, while remaining instantly recognizable in a crowd. “Is that…” “Gypsy Water? Why, yes!”  END OF MEETING. Sweet vanilla, sandalwood, and bergamot find their counterpart with juniper berries, pepper, and pine for a serene balance you’ll appreciate early in the week.

Wednesday Evening

MOJAVE GHOST
Midweek doldrums call for a spark of something interesting to break up routine. Inspired by the desert sharing the same name, Mojave Ghost is a woody, warm musk with notes of amber and cedarwood. The twist comes thanks to magnolia, Jamaican naseberry, and violet who bring a sweet, floral element to the party. Blooms in the desert—so Wednesday of you.

Thursday Night

BLACK SAFFRON
If Byredo were ever to stray from its classic black-and-white minimalist bottles, we desperately hope it would be for a special edition of Black Saffron. Saffron is considered the most auspicious color in India—the color of Hindu monks robes as a fiery symbol of the removal of ignorance and material desires. This celebration of the spice and Byredo founder Ben Gorham’s Indian upbringing is warm, pensive, and smart choice for drinks at the bar.

Friday Night

BAL D’AFRIQUE
Gorham’s “love letter to Africa” is woven from his imagination. “My father lived and travelled in Africa for about 10-15 years,” he says. “I would read his diaries; the way he travelled on freight ships, met all kinds of different people… For me, this was the fantasy of arriving in Africa through somebody else’s words.” Imagined or not, it’s a sexy scent for a Friday—venturing out or cozied in.

Saturday Morning

BLANCHE
With notes of rose and sandalwood, this soft scent is inspired by fresh sheets, clean laundry, and warm skin. Blanche is the scent of sleeping in and a lazy brunch in bed.

Sunday Evening

BIBLIOTHÈQUE
As the name implies, Bibliothèque is the scent for book lovers—a world of leather-bound pages, wood shelves, and spice. Initially introduced as a candle, this fragrance was later released as and eau de parfum because of client demand.
